Bitcoin’s $64,800 realized price floor and LTH accumulation shift

Realized price and market distress
Bitcoin hit $76,672.01 on September 2, 2026. This price sits well above the long-term holder realized price of $49,737. I see the market still wrestling near the short-term holder realized price of $69,007. Realized price equals the average cost basis where all bitcoins last moved on-chain. When market price stays above realized price, aggregate participants hold profits. When price drops below, they hold paper losses. This metric shows market distress during major cycle lows. In June 2026, the short-term holder MVRV fell to 0.82. This drop meant short-term investors saw an 18% average loss. The October 2025 top was the calmest on record. At that peak, the MVRV was 2.29, which is lower than the 2.93 to 5.91 seen at previous tops. In early July 2026, Bitcoin traded at $62,836. The 14-day RSI was 50.36. The market also faced geopolitical volatility when the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding lapsed, causing Bitcoin to pare a 9.4% gain down to 5%.
LTH accumulation and wallet behavior
Long-term holders shifted back into accumulation. These investors, who hold coins for over 155 days, absorbed supply from weaker hands. The accumulation trend shows a divide between wallet sizes. Small holders under 1 BTC show a trend score near 0.9. Mid-sized entities holding 100 to 1,000 BTC show scores around 0.6 to 0.7. Larger wallets in the 1,000 to 10,000 BTC range also turned net buyers at a 0.5 to 0.6 reading. I find the whale cohort behavior disappointing. Wallets holding over 10,000 BTC show a neutral score of 0.4 to 0.5. Realized loss volume for 1-2 year holders, who bought between July 2024 and July 2025, recently passed $75 million on a 30-day moving average. This group often signals the end of a distribution phase. Spot Bitcoin ETF flows showed signs of stabilization when a $223.5 million inflow arrived on July 2, 2026. This halted a two-week bearish streak after net flows peaked at negative $193 million per day in early June.
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| STH Realized Price | $69,000 |
| LTH Realized Price | $49,737 |
| Small Wallet Score | 0.8-0.9 |
| Whale Score | 0.4-0.5 |
Resistance at the cost basis
The market must reclaim $65,000 to show bears exited. Bulls also need to break $69,000. This $69,000 level is the short-term holder cost basis. It coincides with all-time highs from 2021. The October 2025 top was the calmest on record. Galaxy Research analysts estimated a cycle bottom between $40,000 and $46,000. While Bitcoin bounced from $60,000, it remains range-bound. You know that $69,000 is a psychological threshold for many. I would skip any optimism until the price clears the $69,000 resistance. The market also needs to reach $94,700 to signal a short-term bullish reversal. While Bitcoin hit $76,672.01 on September 2, 2026, the asset still struggles to stay above the short-term holder realized price of $69,000, which equals the average cost basis for recent buyers. Does the market have enough strength to avoid a return to the $50,000 zone?
