Maredith Hannon manages business development for digital assets at WisdomTree. She oversees the expansion of WisdomTree Prime and WisdomTree Connect. WisdomTree Prime allows retail users to save, spend, and invest with digital assets. The app is available in 45 U.S. states following its expansion into Rhode Island. Institutional clients require different solutions because they manage their own keys and custody. WisdomTree Connect addresses this by delivering digital records of funds to self-hosted or third-party custodial wallets. Onboarded institutional users receive a non-fungible token (NFT) for identity management, which allows them to transfer digital assets to other eligible users 24/7/365 on a peer-to-peer basis without using the WisdomTree platform. Matt Hougan joined Bitwise Asset Management as vice president of research and development. He previously worked as CEO of Inside ETFs and CEO of ETF.com. He also worked as a three-time member of the Barron’s ETF Roundtable. Bitwise manages the Bitwise HOLD 10 Private Index Fund, which holds the 10 largest cryptoassets. This fund captures approximately 80 percent of the market. In its first two full months, the HOLD 10 fund returned 45 percent. Bitcoin returned only 1.7 percent during that same timeframe. In December’s bull market, the fund returned 78 percent while Bitcoin gained 39 percent. During January’s bear market, the fund fell 18 percent while Bitcoin dropped 27 percent.
