Ethereum price resilience at $3,050 amid staking yield compression

Ethereum price action and technical levels

Ethereum price action shows resilience at $3,050 despite recent technical volatility. The price crossed the $3,000 psychological threshold, which is the 50% Fibonacci retracement level. This move follows a recovery from a low of $2,160. Resistance levels exist at $3,100, $3,350, and $3,500. If the price holds above $2,850, the bullish momentum stays intact. If the price drops below $2,850, it could reach $2,700, $2,500, or $2,400. The RSI is in the overbought zone, which may lead to a period of consolidation. Speculators in the ETHUSDT perpetual contracts show conviction on the buyer side. Open interest in ETHUSDT held up more than the price itself. The liquidation heatmap shows a zone between $2,800 and $2,700. Analysts note that if Ethereum fails to reclaim the $1,800 level, it could revisit $1,200. The current trend shows Ethereum testing the upper side of its large triangle structure. Buyers must defend the lower trendline to keep the broader setup intact. Support levels are also near $1,631 and $1,583. If the price rejects the current resistance, these levels become the first areas to watch.

ETF inflows and supply tightening

BlackRock’s ETHA fund accounts for $477.1 million of the $542.2 million in weekly Ethereum ETF outflows, which is 88 percent of the total losses seen across the entire category this week. This outflow follows a streak of nine consecutive trading sessions of net outflows that began on September 29. This October decline follows a different trend from August. In August, weekly net inflows into Ethereum ETFs reached $697 million. On August 21, net inflows for the week reached $185 million. This was the highest single-week level since 2026. You probably know that ETF flows dictate much of the current market sentiment. In August, daily inflows included $30.85 million, $71.47 million, $189 million, $221 million, and $185 million. Staking also changes the available supply. About 42 million ETH is currently staked, which is 30 percent of the supply. Exchange balances also fell by 15 percent from early June to mid-August, meaning 1.16 million ETH left trading platforms. In February 2026, the market saw net outflows of $161 million for the week ending February 13. This included single-day withdrawals of $129.18 million on February 11 and $113.10 million on February 12. BitMine holds 5.8476 million ETH, which is 4.8 percent of the total ETH supply. This includes 5.0673 million ETH that is staked.

Staking yields and Solana comparisons

Ethereum is moving toward being a yield-generating asset. Staking rewards for Ethereum are between 3% and 5%. This is lower than the 28% compression mentioned in current market observations. Solana offers different returns through its liquid staking ecosystem. Jito is the largest liquid staking pool on Solana, with about $1.08 billion in its liquid staking pool and $18 million in restaking. JitoSOL provides an APY of about 4.48%. This APY includes MEV tips. Jito takes a 4% protocol fee on these rewards. Jito uses an out-of-band auction mechanism and the Jito Solana client to capture these tips. Users deposit SOL into the Jito pool and receive JitoSOL, which is a receipt token. The redemption price grows relative to SOL as rewards accrue. In comparison, Marinade takes a 6% fee and Lido takes 10%. Jito is a strong choice for Solana users wanting MEV revenue. However, Jito’s governance token, JTO, trades around $0.45, which is a massive drop from its $6.01 all time high.

Provider Protocol Fee Yield Type
Jito (JitoSOL) 4% MEV boosted
Marinade (mSOL) 6% Total rewards
Lido 10% Native rewards

Developer friction and regulatory hurdles

The SEC announced a delay in its decision regarding Bitwise’s proposal to incorporate Ethereum staking into its existing ETF in June 2025. This decision involves a formal review of liquidity concerns and validator slashing. The IRS has provided guidance through Revenue Ruling 2023-14, but it does not clarify how rewards are passed through grantor trusts. Ethereum developers are clashing over the Fusaka upgrade. The Geth team opposes the inclusion of the EVM Object Format, or EOF. Marius van der Wijden says EOF is extremely complex. He says the drawbacks outweigh the potential benefits. The Pectra upgrade goes to testnets on February 24 and March 5. Mainnet deployment is set for April 8. This conflict creates uncertainty around the speed of network improvements. Meanwhile, Jito has a restaking network that launched in late 2024. Its total value locked is $18 million. This is a small amount compared to the main stake pool. Will the Geth team eventually concede to the EOF implementation for the Fusaka upgrade?
