Interview: Michael Rosenblat on DoIOwnAShitcoin.com, STOs, and Veil

Michael Rosenblat has been in the Bitcoin space since 2013 when a miner friend has introduced him to the magical government-agnostic cryptographically-protected currency. From that moment, he was hooked and he went on to quit his job in traditional finance and pursue a full-time career in crypto.

On social media, Mr. Rosenblat is best known as “Mike from Do I Own A Shitcoin?”, a humorous content creator who makes fun of the poorly-designed and financially-risky projects around the space. He co-created the platform with his friend Aaron Pardes, and their efforts have attracted a significant following. If you are in for a quick laugh, then you should use the search box on the main page and check the status of your favorite cryptocurrency project. And if you enjoy reading satire, then it’s highly recommended that you take a look at the blog section, where JPM Coin and even Craig S. Wright get their fair share of roasting.

In a nutshell, the “Do I Own a Shitcoin?” project is like The Onion, but for cryptocurrency projects and based on real facts and events. The satirical tone is kept, but the part about making up facts for extra laughs is minimized.

However, there’s more to the picture than meets the eye: Michael Rosenblat is also involved in advising and supporting STO projects, and he is a self-professed fan of promising altcoins which he either mines or buys in an early phase. During the interview, the content creator also talks about Veil, a new privacy coin that he finds interesting and for which he works.

This exclusive 39-minute Crypto Insider interview reveals more information about a brave professional who took the bold step of joining the first generation of people who work full time in crypto. Michael Rosenblat’s story might sound familiar to a lot of folks but is divergent and interesting enough to deserve a listen. And if you enjoy hearing Mike talk about his favorite projects, then you may also message him on Twitter and inquire about his favorite “shitcoins”.

Vlad is a political science graduate who got a little tired and disillusioned with the old highly-hierarchical and centralized world and decided to give this anarchistic blockchain invention a little try. He found out about Bitcoin in 2014, had to do a presentation about it at Sciences Po Paris in 2015, but was too foolish to buy any. Now that he’ll never be a crypto millionaire and hasn’t acquired his golden ticket to lifelong financial independence, he’ll just write op-eds on various topics.
