The people shaping Ethereum’s $3,200 price recovery

The Ethereum price stalemate
Ethereum trades at $1,892 today, which sits 6% higher than its price from four weeks ago. The asset hit a high of $1,895 during the current session after dropping to an intraday low of $1,877. Resistance at $1,900 remains a barrier for the current recovery. The price remains 36% below the year to date level and 60% below the price from one year ago. A drop below the $1,550 to $1,600 June low would push the asset into multi-year lows. The market previously hit $5,000 during the 2025 peak. You already know that the $1,900 level acts as a significant psychological ceiling for Ethereum. ETH traded in a 24-hour range between $1,861.59 and $1,880.32 earlier this week, showing a 0.66% decline. BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) manages $5 billion in assets. BlackRock filed a one-for-three reverse share split on October 6. This split reduced the bid-ask spread from 7 basis points to 2 basis points. Eric Balchunas of Bloomberg noted this reduction in friction for institutional flow. LiquidChain offers an L3 infrastructure with a Unified Liquidity Layer. The presale for LIQUID sits at $0.01487 per token. LiquidChain has raised $930,199.26 to date.
Regulatory delays for staking
The SEC postponed its decision on BlackRock’s proposal to allow Ethereum staking within its iShares Ethereum Trust to October 30, following an original due date of September 15 that would have required a ruling sooner. The regulator also extended the review period for Fidelity’s proposal to add staking features, pushing the deadline to November 13. Franklin Templeton faces a November 13 deadline for staking and a November 14 deadline for Solana and XRP funds. CBOE’s 21Shares Ethereum ETF had a deadline of October 23, and NYSE’s Grayscale Ethereum ETF faced a deadline of October 29. More than 90 crypto ETF applications remain in regulatory limbo. The Commission may use the Generic Listing Standards to allow funds to bypass the Form 19b-4 process through a 75-day review period. Institutional interest grew under the administration of Donald Trump and SEC Chairman Paul Atkins. The SEC continues to evaluate concerns regarding custody, market manipulation, and investor protection.

Diversification and targets
Ethereum requires a 7% move to reach $2,000 from its current levels. A daily close above $1,900 would put the $2,200 target in view. The $2,400 resistance remains a target from the March to May distribution range. Matt Hougan and David Lawant of Bitwise examine how advisors add value via crypto diversification.

The recovery from the June capitulation is the most constructive price action seen in months. The market must clear $1,900 convincingly to shift the narrative from a dead cat bounce to a trend reversal. Will the SEC approve in-kind redemptions for the remaining issuers mentioned by Seyffart?
